I am a restoration ecologist and I joined Lanzhou University as an Assistant Professor in July, 2024. I am leading a team within the Tree Physiology and Forest Ecology (TPFE) research group. I will be recruiting Master’s students for admission in the fall of 2025. Please contact me via email if you are interested in joining the lab.

My research interests focus on:

(1) understanding the biodiversity responses to land-use change and the underlying ecological processes;

(2) identifying optimal land-use planning strategy for maximizing the co-benefits of biodiversity and ecosystem services.

I use field surveys, meta-analysis and simulation approaches to identify opportunities for safeguarding biodiversity and delivering ecosystem services.
